What PandaDash Does
PandaDash is a kiosk-style browser app for the secondary device many AAC families use alongside a dedicated AAC system — the tablet for shows, games, and downtime, not the one running their communication software. It loads web content — such as YouTube and other sites you, the caregiver, choose to add — inside a simplified, restricted interface. PandaDash is not an AAC device or a replacement for any existing AAC system.
Information We Collect
PandaDash is designed to collect as little information as possible.
- No account required. PandaDash does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information to use the app.
- No personal data collected by us. We do not collect, store, or transmit names, email addresses, photos, location data, or any other personally identifiable information.
- Locally stored settings. Your button configuration (names, URLs, colors, icons) and your Pro unlock status are stored only on your device, using standard local app storage. This information is never sent to us or to any third party.
- Purchase information. If you purchase PandaDash Pro, that transaction is processed entirely by Google Play. We do not see or store your payment information. Google's own privacy policy governs that transaction.
Third-Party Content
PandaDash loads web pages from third-party sites you choose to add as buttons — most commonly YouTube. When the App loads these sites:
- That site's own privacy policy and data practices apply, not ours.
- We have no visibility into, and no control over, what those sites collect, track, or display (including ads, cookies, or analytics).
- We strongly encourage caregivers to review the privacy policies of any site they choose to add as a button, and to use available parental control tools (such as YouTube Restricted Mode or Google Family Link) where appropriate.
Children's Privacy
PandaDash is a tool intended for use by caregivers on behalf of the people in their care, which may include children. PandaDash itself does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all. However, third-party sites loaded inside the App (such as YouTube) may have their own data practices regarding children, and caregivers are responsible for reviewing those policies and configuring appropriate safeguards.
Website Analytics
This website (the pages you're reading right now, separate from the App itself) uses a privacy-focused analytics tool to understand traffic — things like page views and which pages are popular. It does not use cookies and does not collect or store any personally identifiable information. This applies only to pandadash.app; it has no connection to the App's local settings, which remain on your device as described above.
Data Security
Because PandaDash does not transmit your settings or personal information to any server, there is no PandaDash-controlled database of user data to secure. Data stored locally on your device is protected by your device's own security features.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
